A Tribute to My Dad

My dad passed away in 2023 and when it was time to go through his belongings and sell my childhood home, there was only 1 thing I wanted, his RCA console record turntable.   I remember Sundays after church, taking a nap on the living room floor while listening to his records play.  It could range from Roy Orbison to John Denver, Dolly Parton, Neil Sedaka, Aretha, you name it, he probably had a style of artist for any occasion.  It just depended on the mood that day.  

When I inherited his console, I didn't have a prominent spot to put it.   Once we got the new floors and started redecorating, I ended up selling our dining room table, because we rarely used it, and turned the dining room into a music/sitting room.   Now we relax in this room all the time, after work and on the weekends.  I absolutely love this corner nook for highlighting my dad's memory and the music he loved so much.  Whenever I'm in this room, playing his music, I think of him.
